Pittsburgh Glass Center

The Pittsburgh Glass Center is a nonprofit hub for glass art education, creation, and community—welcoming everyone from beginners to master artists to explore, learn, and be inspired.

Challenge

Pittsburgh Glass Center (PGC) is a vibrant nonprofit and public-access glass studio, gallery, and educational hub that reaches over 25,000 people annually through classes, exhibitions, and events. Their previous website struggled to reflect the dynamic nature of their organization and posed usability challenges for visitors trying to browse and register for classes, rent studio space, or explore the full range of offerings. With hundreds of pages of content and a need to integrate with their learning management system (LMS), PGC needed a website that could serve as both an engaging storytelling platform and a powerful tool for operational efficiency.

Advance Your Mission

Design, build, and support from a team that knows nonprofit challenges and how to solve them.

Solution

We began with a deep discovery process that included stakeholder interviews, a comprehensive site audit, content analysis, user behavior review, and a competitive landscape assessment. These insights guided a full redesign grounded in UX best practices and visual storytelling. The new site features a fully integrated class registration system, seamless LMS connectivity, and a streamlined user journey. Our design and development teams focused on clarity, accessibility, and modern interaction—making it easy for users to register for classes, rent space, and manage their accounts online.

Results

The result is a visually striking, user-friendly website that captures the energy and creativity of PGC. Enhanced with motion graphics and video elements, the site brings the organization’s mission to life while supporting increased course engagement, smoother user transactions, and a better experience for both first-time visitors and longtime patrons.
